Author: SILVERFOX101 Subject: SF Aftermath Part 2 Posted: APRIL 22, 1998 07:35 Suddenly, the commincations screen crackled to life. "The is general Chun of Apollyon Alliance. Surrender yourself at once or we will destroy you." "What the hell is the Apollyon Alliance?" "You world has commited many crimes against our creator. I will destroy your race!" Fox would never surrender like a coward. He had to think of something. Then it hit him. Once of Macet's missiles could easily wipe out that fleet. But he was dangerously close to Katina. If the missile detonated, It would cause severe enviromental damage to the planet. He sped away from Katina to the outer reaches of the Lylat System. He now was safely away from Katina. General Chun called him again. "Surrender now before we destroy you and your ship." "Go to hell!" Fox punched the missile launch button. Author: SILVERFOX101 The team entered the large fleet of fighters, firing madly. Several ships were downed. Five ships decided to go after Falco but were quickly destroyed by Peppy. The battle raged on, and the team was winning. Then, a ship went after Slippy. The team tried to shoot down the fighter on Slippy's tail, but the pilot of the fighter pulled a U-turn and started firing at Fox. Fox took several hits and lost both wings. His ship floated around and the exploded in a massive fireball. "NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" Yelled Slippy. As the team went back to the Great Fox, they said nothing. Nobody went to the bar to eat. They quietly went to the rooms and weeped. The team link had been broken, and Fox would never be back. Sniff My own story makes me cry! At Fox's funeral, nobody said anything. All the team members wanted to cry oceans, but not in the presence of General Pepper. Peppy disbanded the Star Fox team. There was no leader anymore. Although disbanded, the three friends shared their grief together. They looked up at the stars and knew Fox was smiling down on them. Author: SILVERFOX101 Subject: SF Aftermath Part 3 Posted: APRIL 26, 1998 07:32 As Peppy, Slippy and Falco left the Great Hall, someone was running towards them. Peppy squinted. It was... James McCloud? No It couldn't be. But as he came closer, Peppy realized that he was James McCloud. "James, I thought you were dead. Everybody thinks you're dead." "No time to explain. We must hurry." "To where?" "To rescue my son, Fox." "But he's dead! We saw his ship blow up." "That did not happen. The pilot used a device that transported Fox to their cloaked ship just before the Arwing exploded. They've taken him to Geral, the sixth moon of Fortuna." The team packed their laser rifles and plasma grenades on James's ship. "Why not take the Great Fox? It's docked in the space station in orbit." "We can't. It has been decommisioned and is to be dismantled for scrap." Peppy raged. Since when was their ship ever commissioned? There were mercinaries, not enlisted members of the Cornerian army. The though of their proud ship being sold for scrap made his blood boil. "James, why don't we steal the Great Fox? They haven't started dismatling her yet!" "A risky proposal, but I've been through worse." The team docked at the station and headed through the airlock to the Great Fox. The gunned the engines, ripping the docking clamps like plastic. But they still had to get through the massive doors that lead into space. No problem. They sent the code to the computer to open the doors. As they flew out into space, every member of the team wondered if Fox already had a plan for escape. Fox looked around his cell. He had been wathcing the guards for a few days. He could easily escape from the this place. All he needed was a laser pistol. No problem. The guards didn't frisk him. Fox figured they must be unhappy with their work. He used a special pick to unlock the doors. Two guards noticed him. Fox blasted them both. He ran down the cell block, shooting guards as he went. Then the alarm went off. Fox looked up. Damn! Security camera. He shot it out. Then a large group of guards came running. He picked a plasma grenade from a fallen guard, armed it, and threw it at the guards. It blew guards off the railing into the floor. He ran the hanger. He looked around and found a new Wolfen fighter he had never seen before. He climbed in and took off. He was alreay out of reach of the camp's AA guns. He wondered if the team had made a plan to rescue him. Fox soon found the Great Fox. He called them and got his father. Fox was so surprised he nearly threw the canopy off. "I thought you were dead?" "Aw, can't you find a better greating than that? The fact I was dead was based on circumstancial evidence. I can't believe you still thought I was dead. Anyway, welcome home." Fox went aboard, but no one seemed to notice he had brought back a new Wolfen. "Now we can go back to Conreria. I found out that the Apollyon Alliance has an underwater base there." "We'll make those AA punks pay!" Author: SILVERFOX101 Subject: SF Aftermath Part 4 Posted: APRIL 28, 1998 07:39 Chapter 4 The final Battle As the team headed for Corneria, ROB's voice resonated throughout the ship. "There is enemy activity near Titania. All team members to main launch bay!" As soon as the team entered Titanian airspace, a missile was launched towards the surface. It was a Copperhead, but those were obsolete. The missile struck the surface, but didn't detonate. It drilled into the surface. Then something odd happened: Titania began to collapse. It fell inward and then exploded. "ROB! What kind of things did they do to that missile anyway?" "That particular missile is the Copperhead Mark II. It is designed to penetrate the surface of a planet and destroy a large portion of interior, causing the planet to implode on itself." No sooner had Titania been destroyed than a wave of enemy fighters approaced and started firing on the Great Fox. The ships lasers were extremly powerful. One shot hit the launch bay and blow the doors off. Another hit obliterated the Arwing. The rain of blasting continued, blowing off hull plates. Then they launched a missile at the Great Fox and it blew off the two side wings. The team entered an escape pod and landed on the jungle moon of Cheron. Meanwhile, a missile struck the abandoned Great Fox's engines. The mighty ship exploded in a huge fireball, obliterating all the fighters who were too close. Fox treaded a tear. His ship had been destroyed. His ship his father had worked so hard to build was gone. And now they were stranded on this moon. Author: SILVERFOX101 Subject: SF Aftermath Part 4 Posted: APRIL 29, 1998 07:31 A few days after the team had landed on Cheron, Slippy completed a communications beacon. This would attract ships flying by. But it was all for not, because just then Bill stepped out of bush. "Bill! How'd you find us?" "We found the debris of Great Fox and assumed the worse. Then someone or something told me to check the surface. But never mind that. We have to get back to Corneria." "We must find that underwater city by Corneria city." "Gee Fox, has the war with the Apollyon Alliance dulled your mind? That was planted information! There is no underwater city." "There isn't?" "That's right. It's all a hoax. As soon as they landed on Corneria, General Pepper called them to the Great Hall. "Fox, I have some good news, and bad news for you. From this day on, fighters will fly themselves. Computer's will replace fighter pilots. I feel we should have developed this technology long ago. Now we will not have to put lives at risk when going into combat. All fighter squadrons are to be disbanded immediately." "Are you saying that I'm being replaced by a piece of silicon? I won't stand for this." "Fox, the romanticized image of fighter pilots going into battle with excessive bravado are over. You are living in the past." Fox raged. How could they do this? Now what he supposed to do? Program the computers? Over his dead body! "And furthermore, all ships, from fighters to freighters, will be computer piloted." "General, you are wrong. Computers can't think. They only do what they are programmed to do." "Fox, computers are far superior to people in the cockpit." "I will not go quitely out of a job. You're going to see just how wrong you are Pepper. I will make it my mission in life.. Author: SILVERFOX101 Subject: SF Aftermath Part 4 Posted: APRIL 30, 1998 07:23 General Pepper watched with pride, and some discomfort, as the first test of the computer piloted fighters was about to unfold. If the test was succesful, it would revolutionize warfare forever. "General Pepper, the fighters are ready to be launched." "Good. Commence testing." The fighters flew towards their targets. They succesfully destroyed all the targets and returned to the docking bay. General Pepper was pleased. The first test had gone well. A few days later, they prepared for test number two. This test involved fly through an asteroid belt, and destroying targets on the asteroids. All went well until one fighter started firing on another. The fighters regrouped and attacked the ship that had launched the fighters. "What the hell is wrong with those things? They're not supposed to attack us! Destroy them!" "Our lasers can't target them! They're moving too fast!" Fortunately, the programmer sent a code to the fighters that made them shut down. After examing the software, they found out that the fighters thought the ship was a target. It would take a long time to make them so they only attacked enemy ships. But General Pepper did not give up so easily. He would make these thing work no matter what. Author: SILVERFOX101 Subject: SF Aftermath Part 4 Posted: APRIL 30, 1998 07:39 The computer piloted fighters continued to go wrong. Several officers began wondering if they had any hope at all. But General Pepper was determined to make the fighters work. He had been pushing the workers extremly hard, and with the projects enormous budget, he had to cut the workers pay. Then one day the workers refused to work. General Pepper became hyper in an instant. "If you don not return to your jobs, I will charge you all with mutiny!" "You don't scare us. We don't like our working conditions. And your stupid computer piloted fighters won't work. They never will. Computers will never replace actual minds in the cockpit." "Listen to me. I don't care what you think but you will get back to work immediately or I have will have you arrested!" With that one worker punched Pepper in the face. One moment later the ship burst into a brawl. Then the Star Fox team, who had snuck aboard the ship, burst in wielding large laser rifles. "Alright! Everybody on the ground!" They grabbed General Pepper and took them to Bill's ship. "Guess you need us after all." said Falco. After that, General Pepper deemed the tests unsuccessful and reinstated all fighter pilots. But there was one problem. Fox didn't have a ship. "Fox, I have something to tell you. We've completed your new ship. The CSS Firefox!" Fox was amazed. The ship was three times large than the Great Fox, had deflector shields, more powerful weapons. Almost everything that was good on the Great Fox was better on this. "Also, you will be equiped with new next generation Arwings. They have a cloaking device that will allow you to be invisible when your not in combat. Unfortunately, you can't fire while cloaked." Fox couldn't be happier. He had a new ship. Fox took his team, which now included his father, to celebrate. But the Apollyon Alliance was still a threat. Author: SILVERFOX101 Subject: SF Aftermath Part 4 Posted: MAY 03, 1998 07:54 As the Firefox flew out of Cornerian Airspace, Fox decided to go down to his quarters. When he got there, he noticed that the room was much larger than the his quarters on the Great Fox. There was a spectacular panoramic view of space. He zipped over to the food synthesizer. He asked for some Katinian tea. The computer on the Great Fox never got it right. It was either too strong or too weak. This one was perfect. But he had little time to enjoy it. A small band of ships were aproaching. They deployed the new Arwings and engaged the cloaking device. The band of ships fired on the Firefox. The shot were absorbed by the shields. Then the Arwings reappered and fired on the enemy squadron. The ships were obliterated in one shot. "The old Arwings never did that." But it was not over. An Apollyon battle cruiser was approaching. Then the Firefox fired a full spread of it's missiles. Fox was stunned. The battle cruiser was destroyed in seconds. Fox smiled. Author: SILVERFOX101 Subject: SF Aftermath Part 4 Posted: MAY 03, 1998 08:07 The Cornerian fleet was on its way to the Apollyon homeworld. The crew of the fleet would show no mercy, show no weakness, or show no fear. At the front of the fleet was the Firefox. It wasn't long before the Apollyon Alliance fleet came to confront them. The first wave of Cornerian ships were Arwings commanded by the finest pilots in the Lylat system. The Arwings quickly destroyed the enemy fighters, but their blasts had no effect on the larger ships. The Cornerian ships fired everything they had against the Alliance. Several AA ships were destroyed. The Conerian fleet continued its advance. Then one of the Conerian ships exploded. Fox took the Firefox and blew a hole through the ships. The Firefox blew through the fleet. They found the Apollyon homeworld. They targeted the main city and fired. Then several more ships appeared and started firing on the planet. Then the planet exploded. The team was victorious! The entire StarFox team was given meadals for their courage in the war. So did Fox's father. They took the Firefox and set out to explore the galaxy.
