Author: SILVERFOX2 Subject: The Amazing Story Posted: APRIL 06, 1999 08:35 I want to tell you about something really exraordinary that happended to me a while back... Our computer was broke, there was nothing on TV, I had no books to read, and I had long since found all the secrets in my N64 games. I was bored out of my skull! Desperately searching for something to do, I slapped Star Fox 64 into my N64 and turned it on. Nothing happened. It must be plugged in right. I found the power cord and plugged it in, seemingly unaware I had plugged it in backwards. The moment after I turned it on, there was a flicker of light and then everything went black. When I came to, I appeared to be in a room, but it was not my basement room. I suddenly realized I was standing on board a spacecraft, but this spacecraft was the Great Fox. A large Star Fox logo was painted on the floor. I figured I was so bored I had fallen asleep, but then I pinched myself and I knew it was not a dream. I remembered my grandpa talking about something like this. "Never plug your newfangled toys in backwards! If you do, try to blend in with the characters!" At first I had thought he was just senile, but now it was true. Suddenly a voiced boomed through the ship "ALL PILOTS TO THE LAUNCH BAY!!!!" I took one last look at my N64, which was still sitting in that room. I turned a corner and amazingly I found the launch bay. I saw the four Arwings, and feeling a strange desire to create mischief, which I haven't felt since I was 4 years old, I climbed into the Arwing with the words "Fox M." on the side. The controls were a little confusing, but with my vast knoledge of aircraft systems, I quickly deciphered them. I released the docking clamps and gunned the throttle. I tore away at fantastic speed, yet felt nothing because of the G Diffusor. Up ahead, a large blue planet was looming large. Corneria! Suddenly SLAM! My starboard wing struck an asteroid. My craft was now barreling towards Corneria at inconceivable velocity! I tried using the reverse thrust, but the impact had destroyed them. My craft was flying in a cloud of debris, sort of like Apollo 13. I hope this thing can stand re-entry! I was now entering the exosphere, and my Arwing was beginning to heat up. Trying to slow down, I through on the speed brakes. I slowed a little, but the air was just too thin. I was now hitting upper layer cirrus clouds. Soon I was plunging through low level cumulus clouds. After that, a large city roared into focus. Moments before impact, I located the ejector lever and yanked. I was rocketed out of the Arwing. I looked down to see it smash into a hillside and erupt into a fiery maelstrom. I landed a short distance away. The wreckage of the Arwing was in flames, and I could not approach it for svereral hours. I decided to venture into the city, which I guessed was Corneria City. The city was not dirty like New York, but it was clean and futuristic. Shuttles buzzed overhead, a monorail like system was up there too. Enormous skyscrapers, much taller than any terrestial building, surrounded the street. A large screen flickered on and to my surprise, General Pepper was announcing something. "Today, an Arwing fighter aircraft was stolen today from the Great Fox. We have no leads and no evidence. We did however, find this rather curious device in the Great Fox." Oh no! My N64! That might be the only way to get back to my universe. How do I get myself into these predicaments? I started formulating my plan. I knew the Great Fox was going to land to get another Arwing, and on board would be my N64, of course, the Star Fox team would be performing experiments on it. Wait 'till he sees his ship and title on the cartridge! I decided to go during the night, get my N64, plug it in the right way, and turn it on. With any luck, I'll be right back in my house. Getting into the ship itself was another matter, but I noticed the guards worked in shifts, so I was able to sneak in during the change in shifts. I frantically searched the halls, and found the research room. Looking inside, I found my N64 and I quickly plugged it in. Suddenly, the door burst open and then entire Star Fox team was there. "Put that down! Now! That's a valuable scientific artifact!" I yelled out: "Obviously you don't play videogames!" I turned it on. The Star Fox world disappeared, leaving me in my basement. I checked the clock. It was still the same time that it was when I left. But I was still bored. So I intentionally plugged in my N64, and turned it on....
