Author: RINGSHADOW Subject: Memoirs of a young Fox Posted: AUGUST 11, 1998 09:18 'If anything, it's quieter with my dad gone on a mission.' Fox looked out a window of the house, then looked back to his journal. 'But all i do is worry, it seems. I have a strange feeling this one mission might turn bad. I hate it when i get feelings like this. The last time it happened, my mom was killed in a car bombing. i don't want to loose my dad.' Fox closed the journal and went out to his car. Eighteen years old, and a Cadet at the Cornerian Flight Academy, Fox was currently on leave time. Not that there was much to do. He wasn't legally able to drink, though he did have a driver's license. "Thank god that dad lets me drive the SUV." He muttered to himself, getting into the driver's side and starting the engine. He didn't get very far before he was stopped by a huge car build up. With a noisy sigh, he pulled over and walked along the side of the road so he could see the problem. A several car wreck, and the police had halted traffic. Among the crashed cars was a very wrecked motorcycle, and a pissed falcon was standing next to it, a 'this is not my fault' expression all over his face. Fox bypassed the cops and examined the wreck. "What happened?" He asked the falcon. "Roads are wet." The falcon replied crossly. "That truck spun out, hit that sportscar, which hit that bus, which hit that jeep, which rammed into me. Luckily i jumped free and wasn't hurt. Nobody hurt, but a lot of property damage." He sighed, staring down at his motorcycle. Then he took a good look at Fox. "I know you. You're that Cadet i heard Pepper talking about." "It's possible, he talks about a lot of the Cadets." Said Fox absently. "Nah, not really. But i swear he's proud of you. You're Fox McCloud, aren't you?" "Depends on who wants to know." "Falco Lombardi. I'm a fellow Cadet, and actually went to your high school." "Pleased to meet you Falco." The two shook hands. "Listen, if your car is nearby, could i coax you to give me a ride back to the dorms? The cops already took my report, and it's obvious my bike isn't going anywhere soon." "Sure..." "My dad's going to kill me!" Said another voice nearby. A frog was looking at the damage done to his jeep. He looked up, and grinned when he saw Fox. "Oh, hi Fox!" "Hi Slippy. How bad? Will it have to be towed?" "Yeah, already called the truck. Oh, you again. Sorry i hit your bike." "Wasn't your fault." Falco muttered. "Slip, do you need a ride?" Fox asked. "I'm already giving Falco here one." "Sure! Tow truck's here." "So where were you off to before you ran into this wreck?" Falco asked, as the trio walked back to Fox's SUV. "Nowhere in particular. Was thinking about getting something to eat, perhaps at Chubby's." "That's a good place to eat." Said Slippy. "Can i join you?" "Sure. Want to come, Falco? My treat, you guys have had enough grief for one night." //I know this was a little silly, but it was fun to write, so i hoped you enjoyed it. Ringshadow//
