Author: RINGSHADOW Subject: Interview with Fox McCloud Posted: APRIL 11, 1999 10:02 //Okay. A while ago, I wrote a Fan Fic called Cornerian Flight Academy. Fox in there was a class clown, though he aced classes, and also played guitar... Late last night, this hit me. Laugh at me if you want...this is from the perspective of a reporter// After the war, Star Fox returned home, as many know. As a reporter for the Corneria City Times, I eventually tracked Fox down, wanting to interview him. He agreed. I met him at a combined diner/bar/dance club, finding him in a booth, working his way through a BBQ rib platter and looking through a year book, somehow managing to not get any of the sauce on himself or on the book. Known as a major-league pilot and also laughingly referring to himself as a 'minor-league guitar player,' he certainly had a lot to talk about. He was born in the burbs of Corneria City, had lived in some part of the city all his life, mostly because he genuinely liked it here. His mother had died when he was five, and recently, his father had died fighting. He didn't wish to discuss either death, though he admitted to now being lonely sometimes without his dad around, though he was never really alone. A girl came over, and rather timidly asked, "Who are you?" Fox glanced up. "Who are you?" He replied amiably. "Nora. And you are?" "Why would you want to know my name?" She tossed her hands up and returned to her group of friends. "The nice thing about NOT being part of the Military is that we don't have to take orders all the time." Fox remarked absently. "And if we're a little insubordinate, what can General Pepper do? I admit, he's a good friend of mine. Nice guy. Always nice to be friends with your superior right? You can get away with more." I grinned. "He's stunned that I made it this far, even if he's not surprised, if that makes any sense. I was pretty much a class clown through the Academy and most of High School. Hey I think life's a blast, even if I drove my instructors nuts." The girl came back. "Why won't you tell me your name?" Fox smiled, setting the rib he was working on down. "Why do you want to know my name?" "I've seen you on TV. You're famous, aren't you?" He shrugged. "A person doesn't have to be famous to be on TV." "Who are you?!" "Who are you?" "QUIT THAT!" She yelled, and in frustration returned to her group of friends. "So do you enjoy your position, leading the team?" "It's bittersweet really. Sure I enjoy leading and can deal with what comes with it, but if I could trade it for my dad back, I would in a heartbeat." He finished the ribs, and had no BBQ sauce on himself or the yearbook sitting nearby. First time I had ever seen someone manage that. The girl came back once more, her friends had apparently let her in on who he was. "So you're Fox McCloud?" "Yes, why?" "Why didn't you tell me?" He grinned. "You didn't ask." "Cut that out!" She said, exasperated. "Cut what out?" "ARGH!" She threw her hands up and left again. "That's what I hate about this, there's no such thing as incognito." Fox remarked to me. I laughed. //silly yes, but the above was fun to write//
