Author: KILLERTHUNDER Subject: Revision Intro Posted: SEPTEMBER 02, 1998 20:51 Okay, I'm going to start on a new story //while also helping with the IS//. It is about time-travel. IF ANY IDEAS SEEM LIKE THEY ARE FROM OTHER PEOPLE'S WORK, THEY AREN'T, BUT PLEASE WARN ME. Basic stuff: Ten years after Andross is defeated the New Era //NE// begins. Andross Era //AE// was the time of the war and Andross' destruction. Nostalgic Era //NOE// was before Andross. T3-will be explained later. They will, well, read the story for now on and find out. -KillerThunder Sorry this is so brief. Author: KILLERTHUNDER Subject: Revision Ch 1,2,3 Posted: SEPTEMBER 02, 1998 20:52 Star Fox: Revision Ch. 1-Going Nowhere Fast Part 1 It's 1 NE. Corneria is now rebuilt fully. Venom has recovered from Andross' blast. Lylat is alive. For a little over a year, the T3 has existed. Code named T3, it stands for time-travel transport. Latest of the Cornerian Army's inventions, it could revolutionize Lylat, by letting them go into the past and correct their mistakes. Some fear changing the past. Others praise it. The Army fears that it may be developed by others, and therefore will not let anyone else know anything about it. Part 2 "Fox, as unthinkable as it is," Pepper commented, "We still would be better off today if Andross had never, well, you know." "Does that justify us changing history? While I would not mind going into the past and REALLY killing him, I would worry about how it would change everything." Fox replied. "What's to worry about?" Pepper asked. "What if I went back and killed him when he was a part of the Army? Wouldn't I be charged for that?" "Don't go back that far, then." "After he left Corneria, did you track him?" Fox asked. "No. Why do you ask?" "Where would I find him after he left Corneria?" "On Venom." "Are you sure he was on Venom all that time." "Yes...well, I can't exactly prove it." "Then anything's possible?" "I guess it is." Pepper said, worrying about what he just realized about the past. "Well then, I would have to go back far enough to when he was in the Army. I'm not going to kill him when he is an Army member." "I have to go, Fox." Pepper said in disgust. The comm link shutdown. Ch. 2-Report In Part 1 "In case of emergency, we need to know what people might do if they got control of the T3 device. That is what this meeting is for." Pepper started off. "Anything they want." One scientist stated. "Yes, but how will we respond?" Pepper asked. "Anyway needed to stop them." another general said. "Pepper, don't worry. Only we have the technology." "Well, Fox doesn't want to help us and our Army might not be able to--" The other general cut him off. "You sure Fox won't help." "He said he won't go back." "To help in anyway." "Yes." "Or did you mean to help eliminate Andross." "Well, that did come up." "Did the 'help in anyway' come up?" Pepper just stood there. "I didn't think so." The other general said. Part 2 "What are you trying to make me look like?" Pepper asked General Malt //the other general at the meeting//. "Listen Pepper, everyone knows you want to go back and discharge Andross so it won't look like you made a mistake in keeping him." "I didn't think he would do that." Pepper responded. "Then why do you care so much?" General Malt said as he walked away. Part 3 "Andross, the test pilot is out and ready." the tech said. "Well, get on with it." Out the ship went. Andross, still alive through it all, had been dealt a hard blow during the war of the AE. 80 percent of his men and ships were destroyed, including four of his five Wolfen 2 ships. Now, with a small force, a base far away from Corneria but still near Lylat, and all intentions of revenge, Andross was prepared to try something that could eliminate civilization. He was going to test his own version of the T3. "The ship is ready. Shall I tell the pilot to activate the device?" the tech asked. "Go ahead." Andross said calmly. Andross knew his plan well. If successful, he could go back and change history to benefit him. He knew how he would enact the plan, what should happen //he could only predict the results//, and how history shall be molded in his way. In reality, it was almost as if he had been planning it before he left the Cornerian Army. By being "defeated" and squashed, he was able to escape away from Lylat without anyone's knowledge. His location was untraceable. Even the best assumption by the best analysists couldn't guess his location. "The pilot has escaped the Black Hole and is now ready to go." the tech said. "Continue." The ship rocketed forward as if it went through twenty acceleration rings at the same time. "It is confirmed sir. The ship appeared as a blip twenty minutes ago." "Excellent." Ch. 3-Seek and Destroy Part 1 "Fox, it's useless." Peppy advised. "Do you think he's dead?" Fox asked. "Of course not! He's Andross." Peppy replied. "Well, until he is, I will always search." "Okay, where haven't we checked?" Peppy asked. "We've checked everywhere we can. You know that." Falco responded, annoyed that they were going through this routine again. "Where can't we check?" Fox asked, as usual. "As usual, the Black Hole and anywhere that is distanced from Lylat." Slippy said. "I still don't know why we don't go check the area outside Lylat. Being our leader, I think we should." "Fox, calm down. We know you want to kill Andross, but risking our safety and the safety of Lylat are not worth it." Peppy said. "Lylat can manage for a little while." "Stop being selfish, Fox. I didn't watch over you so that you would turn into this." "Why don't --" Fox began to say. "'Check the Black Hole?'" Falco interupted. "Because it is more risky than any of your other ideas." Slippy said. "All of this is getting repetitive. Week after week we have to convince you that it is a bad idea. When is this going ot stop, Fox?" Peppy asked. "I guess your right. What else is there to do, though?" Fox said. "We'll find something to do." Part 2 "What do you mean 'Something has breached space in a way that is similar to time-travel'?" Pepper growled. "Well, someone must have used the T3." the scientist said. "Who? We didn't assign someone to go test it today." Pepper asked angerily. "We don't know." "Well, FIND OUT!" //30 minutes later// "It is unidentifible, sir." "Call a meeting. This needs to be discussed." Pepper said. Star Fox: Revision Ch. 4-Need to Know "Tell me why we can't track it again." Pepper asked the crowd of scientists. "Once it has transported, it is indiscernible ot us." "Why was I not warned of this?" No one answered. "Everyone leave now. I want to know, by tomarrow's meeting, who's ship it was, what it was doing, and why I lack all of the details of time-travel." "Uh sir--" a scientist began. "Just do it now. I don't want to hear it." Pepper responded. Ch. 5-...often go astray "Fox, now I'm serious. Someone, and we don't know who or how, has gone back in time." Pepper told Fox. "Do you know if they've done anything." "Well, changes could be large or irrelevent. We might not know anytime soon." "Could it have been a test?" Slippy asked. "Extremely good possibilities. Scientist assume that." "Can you find out for sure?" Fox asked. "No. We can't find out anything for sure. We don't have much, but we assume the worst." Pepper replied. "Plus, if it is Andross, as usual, you would have a chance at him." "You would have a chance at getting back at Andross for keeping him in the Army." Fox responded. "Is this about you or me?" Pepper asked. "Is any of this important? We should be doing it for Lylat." Peppy said. "We'll help. Get us the details." Fox said. Ch. 6-Time and Space never ending Part 1 "General Pepper has issued a request for people to join the Army. It seems he is worried about something and he wants to make sure he has a large enough force to go to battle with." A reporter said into the camera. It was almost like Defcon 3 has been signeled. Pepper had the Army on full alert. He did not want to risk being blindsided. Part 2 "Give me a report. You should've had one ten minutes ago." Pepper growled, upset that he wasn't up-to-date with everything. "Sorry sir. Nothing unnormal detected." "Alright, get back to work." If it had been measured, doctor's would've detected Pepper's stress level as ten times it's normal level during war preparations. He understood what could happen. He didn't want to see it. The comm link blinked on. "Fox, it took you long enough." Pepper said. "Sorry, I was asleep." Fox replied. "No matter. Listen, I want you on full alert. If Andross--" "Are you sure it is Andross?" Fox asked. "Well, it most likely is. Where was I before I was interupted? Oh yes. I need you to be prepared to go back in time as soon as we detect that the space has been breached." "We'll be ready, sir." Part 3 The chameleon walked along slowly. Pondering what he would do, he walked along the ship towards the bridge. It was almost like a boat floating in space. A capacity of 1500 ships, 3000 soldiers, 10000 large boxes of supplies, 250 escape ships w/12 man capacity in each, and complimented by an internal computer system that blows away all others, this ship was a smoke-black war machine. "Jack, sir, your needed at the bridge immediately." A soldier came up to him and said. "Excuse me, I know that. However, I believe you are supposed to refer to me as General Calem." General Jack Calem was probably the best pilot to never be noticed. He was known. Pepper and Andross tried to recruit him. He always declined. He had his own army of mercs. Coming from a rich family, he always had the money to do what he wanted. He entered the bridge. "Where is the report on the prototype GCM?" he asked as he stepped in. "Right here sir. It looks like it will work well." The report listed its name, Galaxy Chameleon Missle //GCM//, it stats in tests, and what it is capable of. Besides destruction as usual, this missle was special. With the ability to eliminate a 10 square mile area to nothing, it could travel from one side of Lylat to the other, or any other galaxy, quickly //approximately 15 minutes time//. It also had the ability to blend in with its surroundings, thus making it literally invisible. "Excellent work." Jack replied. "Sir, we are having trouble. Word is that Pepper has the Cornerian Army on alert to track if anyone is traveling in time." a tech said. "Pepper doesn't know we have a prototype of the T3 that works. He'll suspect it's Andross." Jack said. "When he sees the signal came from Sector X, he'll come and check it out." "He'll never find us here. We blend in with our ship. Plus, we can disappear on Titania's surface looking like a mountain. We will just have to have the pilot launch from far away, near Solar or Aquas or somewhere." "Got it sir." Soon, they would launch a ship to travel back, not necessarily to change anything but to worry Pepper. He figured that since everyone had forgot about the Chameleon Mercanaries, they coudl get away with anything and it would be blamed on Andross. With that luxury, they could regain attention and gain some political power in the Lylat system. "Test will occur in five hours sir." "Great." Jack said. Ch. 7-Test Too Part 1 Out the ship went. A Wolfen 1, for they couldn't get a prototype of 2, equiped with Chameleon technology to blend in. From Sector X it traveled towards Solar and its eventual launch point, Katina. The ship would get near Solar, aim at Katina, and launch at a distance between them. In the meantime, the main ship was landing on Titania to hide and monitor the test ship. "Sir, a strange blip has appeared. Possible proof of T3 working." a tech said. "Wait and see." Jack replied. The ship launched and disappeared. "Confirmed sir." "Meeting at 20:00." Jack said in reply. "Get the word out." Part 2 "General Pepper, a breach has occured." "Okay, get Star Fox on comm link. Meeting now!" Part 3 "Andross, it appears someone has gone into time-travel." Andross noticed it near Katina. "Pepper would never launch there. I wonder what this is. Find out now." Ch. 8-Analysis in the War Room Part 1 "So you want us to check it out?!" Fox exclaimed. "Yes. Why are you surprised?" Pepper responded. "Because you have soldiers stationed on Katina. Send them, they're right there." "We would rathre have you go." "Are you sure Andross is there? Have you sent a spy team to check?" "Well, we suspect whomever it is must be hiding. Thus, we cannot confirm it is Andross." "Then who is it?!" Fox asked. "We're not sure." "Who else could it be?" "We are trying to figure that out." Pepper said to calm Fox, who was appearing to be enraged. "Then why did you contact us? We are supposed to deal with Andross." "We hoped you would deal with anyone who tries to harm us." "Well, contact us when we care!" Fox said as he hung up. "Someone contact Peppy and find out what is going on." Pepper said. Part 2 "Andross, I cannot confirm it, but it doesn't seem to be a Cornerian ship." "Well who is it? Star Fox? With how close it was to Katina, I don't know who else it could be." "It could have been Sam Girgo." "That turtle? His brain doesn't work fast enough to think of how to do time-travel." Sam Girgo was the last great genius, engineer, and mechanic this side of Andross and Beltino Toad. He was young, around 25, and had inventions that blew away the minds of many. He was well known that is what he hated. To escape, he went to Fortuna, where he hides and invents as he pleases. His intelligence matches, and possibly surpasses Andross', but Andross won't admit it. Many wonder what he is capable of. Andross continued. "What happened of him, and why would he want to go back in time?" "To test a prototype." "Well, even so, do you really think he's on Katina?" "No sir." "I didn't think so. Find out what's happening. Tap into Corneria's comm links and radio and television signals if you need to." Ch. 9-Enter into Confusion "Peppy, what is wrong with Fox lately?" Pepper asked. "I'm not sure. His emotions are on fire. I haven't been able to figure out what's wrong with him." Peppy replied. "Well, I need him to be ready. I can't afford him to be in this state while trying to go back in time." "Gen. Pepper, we've received a message." a tech interupted. "Put it on screen." --Messages reads:-- To: General Pepper Cornerian Army, Andross, Peppy Hare Star Fox Mercanaries, anyone who intercepts this signal. From: General Jack Calem Chameleon Mercanaries Body: As of a few hours ago, a pilot was sent back in time. His mission was to eliminate Andross. When this goal is accomplished, it is predicted that the Star Fox team will never develop, and the Cornerian Army will remain small and unpowerful. All of this done, my army will gain control of the Lylat System, and I shall be the emporer. Any effort to stop us shall be defeated. //signed// Jack Calem --End of Message-- "Jack did that launch?! Peppy, get Fox to read this. Someone be on alert for contact from Andross, since he might try to reach us for help." "Wait, you might help him?" Peppy asked. "Yes. We must protect our own interests as well." Pepper responded. "This is insane. How do we know this is true? How do we knoow it will play out as he said? It could fail. It could happen a different way. Anything's possible." Peppy said in argument. "No time to consider. We must take decisive action." Pepper said. "We must make time." "We can't argue this, Peppy. Go get Fox, bring him back here. Until then..." The comm link shut off. "What are we getting into?" Peppy thought. Ch. 10-Erasing the Present Part 1 The lizard pilot ended up in the N.O.E. //nostalgic era//. Here, his orders from General Jack were to find and eliminate Andross. Afterword, he was to spend as much time as needed to make sure the plan acted out as Jack wanted. The pilot had landed on Katina. He immediately took off again towards Corneria, willing to go into the meteor field path. However, he was surprised when the meteor field was not as large as in the future, thus letting him fly smoothly. He approached Corneria. Just as he began to boost, a voice came on the radio. "Halt, who are you?" a Cornerian pilot asked as a small fleet surrounded the foreign pilot. "Do not fear my Wolven. It is the only ship I could get. I am not a part of the rebel army." the pilot quickly said. "What are you talking about? And what is this woven, wolfer, whatever, that you speak of?" the pilot asked. Shock came over the pilot. He realized he had gone so far back that the war had not started and his ship was unrecognizable. "Er...nothing. This ship is a new prototype of mine. Do you mind if I enter this airspace?" "Well, you don't seem as if your going to cause trouble, but in case, I'm going to send two of my pilots to monitor you along the way. Good day." the leader said and flew off. "Great," the lizard thought, "babysitters." Part 2 "Even Andross wants you to take off as soon as possible, Fox." General Pepper said. "We're not ready. Give us a day and we'll be there ready to go." "I'll give you eight hours. Be here." "That's unreasonable." "That's my order." "Don't order me." "I won't if you just do what you need to do." "Alright," Fox said in compliance, "we'll be there." // six hours later // "About time guys." Pepper said. "I'm not in the mood. What is this memo I'm hearing about?" "Here. To sum it up, Andross is willing to aid us in this." "You sure he doesn't have an alternative motive." "I'm sure he does, but we will accept the help. Wolf O'Donnell and Leon Oikanny will help. We also got Katt Monroe to join you." "Wolf?" Fox said, enraged. "Leon?" Slippy said. "Katt?! Ah no. That's not--" Falco said, interrupted. "Deal with it Falco." Pepper said. "Are you serious?" Fox asked. "Yes, we are." Peppy said. "I helped pick them out, Fox, so deal with the selection." "Oh joy." Fox replied. Ch. 11-Arrivals/Departures "Sir, if you don't mind, we'd like to keep your ship under protection at the army base." one of the "babysitters" said. "Why? So you can look at it?" Nizor, the lizard pilot, siad in reply. "You need not watch over my ship and me." "Well, we insist." Angered by their persistance, Nizor hit his brakes. Before the pilots could split up to attack, he had locked onto one of them and launched a bomb. With that problem aside he went on. "Jack won't be happy that I had to do that." he said to himself. He boosted along. Hovering over the ground, in between hills, over plateaus, and through valleys. Soon, after flying over a large lake, he say the city. He avoided the city by flying through the hills that surrounded the city. Once past there, he approached the Cornerian army's base. "Identify yourself pilot." a dog said from the tower. "Nizor Symell. I'm a friendly pilot just looking for a place to land on." "We cannot allow access." "Please. I can keep my plane outside." "We're sorry, but this place is too busy and too full to accept civilian pilots." "I'm considering entering the Cornerian flight academy." "You will still have to land somewhere else." "Not now." Nizor thought. He passed the base without landing. He knew he would have to gain access from the outside now. Unless... "Wait," he thought, "I can break out." Suddenly, at a speed much too fast, he turned around and went above the base. He hit his air brakes, and descented upon a plane receptor. "Pilot, what are you doing?" the control tower attendant said. "Wha?..." a Cornerian pilot said as he tried to avoid Nizor. He landed the ship. "Step out and present no harm." a soldier said as he ran up to the plane. Nizor stepped out and was brought to a cell. "How long will I be here?" he asked. "Until you can be brought in front of the Court." one of the soldiers guarding him responded. "Can I get something to eat?" "No." "Well," he thought, "this might be harder than I thought." Ch. 12-On the Road Again Part 1 "Is everyone equiped with T3 and ready to go?" Fox asked. "I'm good." Peppy said. "Ready to rock and roll." Falco said. "Good here." Slippy said. "I'm always ready." Wolf said. "Don't worry about me, Fox." Leon said. "I'm fine." Katt said. "Alright, since I don't like large teams, we're going to take this as two teams. We won't separate beyond a certain distance, but we will try to keep it so that we won't, or should I say I won't, have difficulties. The teams shall be Peppy, Leon--oh, wait...hmm..." Fox said. He was trying to make the teams so that Wolf and Leon would be monitored while getting Katt away from distracting Falco. He couldn't put Slippy and Falco alone with Wolf, because Slippy wasn't enough support. "I've got it. Leon, Katt, and I will be one team. Slippy, Peppy, Falco, and Wolf will be the other. Falco will be the leader of that group." "Why do I feel like I'm being outnumbered?" Wolf said. "You tell me." Fox said. "Are you going to launch or not?" Pepper said over the radio. "We're ready." Slippy responded. "Let's go." All of the ships disappeared. Part 2 "How am I going to escape?" Nizor said to himself. Suddenly it clicked. His knife, that is. He picked the lock with it. "Argh, the lock is off, but the cuffs are still on me. Anyone will know I'm an escaped prisoner." By one barrier, the lock that connected the metal cuffs, he still had the cuffs to surpass. "Oh well, where's the electrical board?" He searched the panels of the room. Finally he found it. With little wind up, he punched the board in two. Suddenly the lights went out and he clutched his knife. "Thank God I studied this place." He knew what would happen next. The Cornerian Army had a fail safe for prisoners. If any got out of the lock, the prisoner would think the electric board would open the door. Instead, the lights would go out, signaling to the guards outside that the prisoner had broke free of the lock. As quickly as he heard the steps rush down the hall at the cell, the door had opened and five guards stood there. He slipped into the darkness. Being a circular room, another fail safe, he couldn't take cover in a corner. One guard walked out into the room. He looked everywhere, but could not see Nizor. Two more joined him. Seeing only two guards in front of the door, Nizor got an idea. Suddenly, the first guard disappeared, quietly. Nizor laid his body down. Next, he charged the guards at the door. Stabbing one and knocking the other down while dodging the laser fire, he ended up outside the cell. He shoved the one guard back into the cell, next to the bleeding guard. As the other two approached, he grabbed a laser and hit them both. "Jack is really going to be pissed off. This was supposed to be quiet." Ch. 13-Intercept The Fox team and Falco team ended up in N.O.E. Quickly, they headed for the army base //they were already on Corneria//. However, an unexpected surprise awaited them. "Where aer you going?" a pilot said. However, his ship was visible to no one. "Who said that?" Wolf asked. "I did." said a different pilot. "There are two of them." Peppy said. "You sure." two pilots said. "One of those sounded the same as the first, but the other was different." Slippy said. "Are there three or four?" Leon asked. "Maybe I'm alone." a pilot said. "Just show yourself and fight." Fox said in anger. Suddenly, seven wolfens appeared, hidden by the Chameleon technology. "Who are you?" Katt asked. "The Chameleon Mercanaries. A product of Jack Calem." one pilot said in pride. "Shut up, you idiot." the leader said. "Jack, huh. Haven't heard of him in a while." Wolf said. "Who's Jack?" Fox asked. "Yeah, I should've guessed you wouldn't know." Wolf said snobishly. "He was one of the best pilots in our class. However, he never cared for Corneria or its army." "Enough chatting. We cannot allow you to go to the base. You cannot interupt the inevitable." "No, but we can delay the inevitable." Fox said. "Let's take them out." Falco said as he and his team went to their right side. Fox's team charged the lizards. Two lizards disappeared and followed Falco's group, sending random fire at them. The other five faced Fox's team. "Hit them with your ship, if you must, just don't give in to them." Fox said because the lizards were just sitting there. As they got close, all the lizards did a U-turn. "Follow them." Fox said, as two disappeared from the group and U-turned back towards Fox. "Where did they go?" Leon asked. Suddenly, a barrage of fire came from all sides. The four hidden ships were on them. The other three were on Falco's team, who had been led to the interception by the two ships that had been following them. "I'm out." Leon said as he fell. "But, I still am going to kill one of you." Leon let out his three bombs. They exploded, destroying one lizard's ship, and temporarily revealing all the ships for three seconds. "Hey everyone. Bombs disrupt their vanishing equipment for a few seconds. Use that against them." Katt said. "I'm down." Peppy said. "Me too." Slippy said. "Wol--I mean Falco. You two come straight towards us." Katt, Fox, Wolf, and Falco all flew at each other. "Now!" Fox yelled. Suddenly, they all dropped a bomb or two. Five of the remaining lizards went down. The remaining lizard refused to give up. "Well then, you must crash then." Leon said. He had managed to keep his ship somewhat level, making it possible to float down. He crashed his wing into the cockpit of the lizard. Leon pulled away as the lizard's ship exploded. "Onto the inevitable." Katt said. Ch. 14-Previews // Back in N.E. // "General Pepper, sir, I need you to sign these releases." "What are they?" he asked. "Reports to families informing them on how their sons died." "When did this happen?" "Oh, this is many years old, sir. Back when Andross was still here." "That incident! I thought we got the Court ot allow us to keep that information secret." "The Court finally caved." "Who is it we blamed for those murders?" "We never found out. The murderer was a prisoner. He was never caught after he escaped. Strangely, when we tried to track his ship, it disappeared from the radar. The only evidence we ever learned of him was that he was a lizard with the initials N.S." "Hmm...well, I guess we couldn't hold the information back forever." Pepper said. Ch. 15-In the White Light Nizor sprinted through the prison halls. Worried that more soldiers would see or find him, he chose the path that had the most places to hide. He came to a flight of stairs and went up to the sixth floor. Here he met his first difficulty. "Where is my key?" he asked himself, feeling his pants for it. He grasped it finally and brought it out. Slidding the key through, a blue light flashed, signalling he had access to the floor, as well as the whole building. He calmly walked into the hall, hiding his hands in his pockets. Luckly, he still had his civilian uniform on. If asked why, he could simply say he was off-duty and came back to get something from his office. Andross' office was on the other side of the building, a good 200 yard distance. Nizor wondered if he had a chance. However, he remembered the most important part of his mission briefing. Andross wasn't in his office. He would be in a meeting, then his lab, then leaving. The question was, is he still in the meeting or the lab? A large group of officials walked out of a board room. "The meeting." Nizor said to himself as he spotted Andross in the group. They all walked by him. He acted as if he did not notice. Luckly, they didn't. Andross separated from the group to go to his lab. As Nizor followed him around the corner, he heard Andross say something that interested him. "James? Peppy? What do you need?" Andross said. Nizor looked around the corner. It was Peppy, but that wasn't James McCloud he saw. Ch. 16-Become the Oddity Part 1 "James, you look different." Andross said. "Haircut." Fox said, trying not to give himself away. "Anyway, have you seen any strange people around here, say, a lizard?" Peppy asked. "Actually, there was someone around that corner. I didn't recognize him, but I only got a glance." "Thanks." Fox said. Peppy and Fox rushed down the hall and turned the corner. Nizor was gone. "Where could he be?" Fox asked. "Have you seen him at the exits?" Peppy said over a radio. "No." Slippy, Wolf, and Leon replied. The operation was difficult at this point. Since they were in a different time, only Fox, Peppy, and Falco could go into the building //both Fox and Falco resembled their parents//. Peppy, of course, was common. Everyone else, save Katt, was outside watching exits. Since Katt would be unknown for a year or two, she could enter. She was sent to the control tower to watch who was leaving. "Everyone keep looking," Fox said, "he can't get too far." Part 2 Nizor crept through the halls. Nervous and sweating, he tried not to attract attention. Those walking by gave suspicious looks. Finally, he ran out of luck. "Attention: Everyone in the building, watch out for a green/brown lizard, approximatly 6'4", and extremely dangerous." a voice said over the intercom. Everyone around him stared at him. "Now what?" Nizor thought. Ch. 17-Desperation Part 1 Nizor was at a loss for words. He knew he had no chance. A crashing noise came from behind him. Lizards were coming in through the windows. "Larry," Nizor said, "how did you get here?" "Jack sent us back. He realized you were not going to fulfill your objectives." Larry said. Larry, it turned out, was next in command behind Jack. "So, we're going back. I'm a failure." All this time, the army employees had fled. Seemingly odd, no one came back to get Nizor. "Where is everyone to capture me?" Nizor asked. "Worrying about the air-raid." Larry replied. "You know what you are doing?" "Listen, Nizor, I'm going to do you a favor." "What's that?" "Jack told me to kill you. Instead, I killed one of the rookies. When we go to the future, you have to disappear. I will say one of the pilots didn't make it to cover the lost ship." Larry said regretably. "Well, thanks, I guess." Nizor said, upset. Part 2 //Back in N.E.// "General Pepper, there is someone here to see you." "Let him in." "Hello Pepper, long time no see." "Sam Girgo, I don't believe it. I thought you would never come back after leaving the Fortuna base." //to learn about Sam, for those who don't know him, see chapter 8// "Well," Sam said, "I heard about what is happening. Frankly, I was wondering if you were realizing the irony in it all." "How do you mean?" Pepper asked. "Time is a funny thing. Jack Calem believes by going back in time, he can change the present and the future by eliminating Andross." "Yes, I follow, but still miss the point." "There is a phrase. 'All attempts to see and predict the future are deceiving.' It applies to everything." "Are you trying to say Jack's attempt is futile." "I'm trying to say Jack doesn't realize the past, the present, and the future aren't in his hands." "Why are you telling me?" "Because I hope you will not make any mistakes in the way you handle this current situation." "What mistakes can I make?" "Don't be concerned with the mistakes, Pepper. Be concerned with what might happen because of the mistakes." "I thought you said thinking about the future was deceiving." "I said trying to know the future was deceiving. Planning for all possibilities is just a wise action." "I'll take your thoughts into consideration. Thanks Sam. By the way, what are you doing now?" "I'm off. I need to get back in hiding before it is realized I'm out." "What's the concern with someone realizing your out in the open?" "Let's just say there are a few people who do not think favorably about me and would not mind learning of my demise in tomarrow's paper." "I understand. Good day, Sam." Pepper concluded. "You too, Pepper." Sam said as he left. Ch. 18-Realization //this is a summary chapter to lead into the next book// As of now, Jack's plan has failed. Nizor, after arriving back in N.E. //new era//, disappeared in Lylat, classified as a dead pilot by General Larry. Pepper had doubt it is over, and Andross has assumed nothing else will happen. Star Fox is back to its usual watch over Lylat. Katt went back to Katina. Wolf went off unseen. Not even Andross knows his current location. Leon is with Andross. Yet, in reality, a question remains. Did anything really happen? It can't be proven or disproved. Here is where Revision, the first "book" //you might say// of this story, ends. It will be continued in the next story, Star Fox: Reiteration. // the first chapter is written for Reiteration, but I don't want to post it yet//
