Chapter 7: Trapped.

"I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT YOU WOULD PULL A STUNT LIKE THAT AT OUR MOST
CRITICAL MOMENT!" Andross paced back and forth in front of Andrew. Andrew
was kneeling on the floor and crying.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of what was going on." That statement made
Andross even more steamed.
"YOU...YOU!" Andross was so mad he could barely finish the sentence.
"WEREN'T AWARE OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING?! YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF THE PLANETARY
DEFENSE GRID! I COULD HAVE NEEDED YOU AT A KEY MOMENT!" Andross then took
a deep breath and let it out slowly. He continued, "Because of your
laziness over twenty soldiers have lost their lives. The data crystal was 
destroyed as well. Now we can't make any copies of the SSD information."
Andross sat back in his throne and looked at Andrew. "So" Andross said.
"What do you plan to do about it?"
Andrew quickly stood up. "I..I can check the network computer and see if
some of the information survived the blast. I know that the SSD
information was being downloaded from the crystal while the attack took
place. Maybe some information made it into the computer."
Andross leaned forward in his throne.
"Well get out of my sight and get to work."

Andrew ran toward the throne room doors. Unfortunately he wasn't watching
where he was going and ran smack into one the throne room guards. The
guard and Andrew both fell to the floor.

"Sorry." Andrew said as he quickly stood back up and ran out the doors.
Andross rolled his eyes and turned his head to where Wolf was standing.

"Remind me again why I have him with us."

Wolf smiled and said. "Because he is your nephew and he hates the Star Fox
team as much as you do."

Andross smiled and said. "Yes, but if that's the case why would he do this
too us?"

Wolf shook his head and said. "Who knows, Andrew has always been a hard
one to figure out."

The throne room doors opened and Leon walked in. He walked up to Andross'
throne and knelt in front of it.
"Lord Andross it is an honor to be in your presence."
"Please rise." Andross said. "What good news have you brought me?"

Leon stood and began to speak, "The Star Fox team has been captured.  You
can thank the materializer for this accomplishment."
Andross smiled and said. "Well done. How is the work coming on the
planetary weapon?"
"We are almost finished." Leon said. "Soon you will have your revenge."

"Good" Andross said. "Wolf."
Wolf quickly looked at Andross. "Yes Lord Andross."
"Our guests need to be welcomed, take Leon and Pigma and see that they get
the royal treatment."

Wolf smiled really big, this was the moment he had been waiting for. "With
pleasure sir."
Fox touched the cold floor beneath him. No, he certainly wasn't in his
arwing anymore. He stared ahead in the darkness and waited for his eyes to
get adjusted.

"Falco? Peppy?" Fox called out.
"We're over here." Falco said. Fox got up and walked to where Falco's
voice was coming from. Fox was relieved to see that everyone was ok. 
"What happened?" Fara asked.
"I think the materializer transported us to this location." Peppy said. 
"Oh great." Falco said. "This is just great." 
"I think I found something." Slippy said. 
Everyone walked over to where Slippy was. Next to Slippy attached to the
wall was a small plastic box. On top of the box there were two small
holes. "What do you think this is used for?" Slippy asked.

All of a sudden they all heard a deep snorting noise come from one corner
of the room. Fox and the team all turned toward the direction of that
noise. Fox then started to walk slowly toward that corner of the room. He
raised his hand to the team telling them to stay put while he checked it
out. He kept on walking until he noticed a figure huddled in the corner.
Fox walked closer to the creature and knelt down beside him. He then took
the head of the creature and slowly turned it so he could see his face.
Fox's mouth then dropped open. He blinked his eyes and looked again. The
same face appeared in front of him.

"It can't be." Fox thought to himself. "It's impossible."
Fox then stood up and looked at the rest of the creature all over. He then
fell to his knees in shock. The uniform, the face, it was him.

"Father?" Fox said.

Chapter 8: Another Reunion.
All of a sudden, a bright light came on in the room. Fox turned around and
saw a big fluorescent light attached to the ceiling. Fox could see that
the room was not as big as he thought it was. On one side of the room, Fox
noticed a huge opening in the wall. Beyond that opening, Fox could see a
small narrow pathway right next to it. He walked up to that opening and
tried to step onto the pathway. A huge force then blew him to the ground.
Slippy ran up to fox.
"Are you ok?"
"Yes, I'm fine." Fox answered. Fox then stood up and stared angrily at the
large rectangular opening. "What is this Slip? Some kind of force field?"
"It definitely looks like one to me." Slippy answered. Slippy walked to
the small box that was next to the large opening. "I'm willing to bet that
this box controls the force field in some way. I'm going to try to disable
it." Slippy then began to poke his fingers into the two holes on the box.
Fox then looked down at his belt and realized that his blaster was gone.
He then looked at everyone else.

All of their blasters were missing too. For the first time ever Fox
realized that he was out of options. Fox had absolutely no idea what to do
next.
"All right everyone." Fox said. "Slippy will find us a way out of
here." The rest of the team nodded their heads in agreement, but they were
all still shocked to see James McCloud in the same cell with them. 

Fox walked to the corner where his father laid. He looked at his face
again. In the light, Fox could see that his dad was bruised all over. Fox
slowly turned his head again and stopped. Attached to the top of his head
on the right side was a large metal plate. Fox also noticed that his dad's
right ear was taken off to make room for this large plate that covered the
right side of his head. Fox then clenched his fists in anger. "Andross
will pay for this!" Fox said to himself. "ANDROSS WILL PAY!"

"Welcome Star Fox." said a voice. Fox and others turned around and saw
Wolf, Leon and Pigma standing on the pathway on the other side of the
force field. Fox was in shock.
"Wolf?"
"In person." Wolf replied. Fox then started to smile. Wolf and Fox
were good friends in the military academy. Both were at the top of their
class. However, while Fox received all the recognition when he was young,
Wolf was just looked over. The main reason was the last name. James
McCloud was very well known and everybody expected Fox to be just as good
as him. At the end of military training, Fox graduated at the top of his
class for that year. Sadly, Wolf had to settle for second place. Since
then Fox never heard from or saw Wolf until today. Fox's face then began
to change to a huge frown. How could his former friend allow something
like this to happen?

"What have you done to my father?" Fox asked. Wolf smiled.
"Relax Fox, we only probed his mind. Andross now knows everything about
his life. He will wake up soon remembering everything that happened."
"YOU DID WHAT?!" Fox yelled. Fox charged toward Wolf and was blown back as
the force field hit him again. Fox quickly got up and stared at Wolf. "YOU
S-N OF A B-TCH." Fox yelled. "YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME?! COME ON! RIGHT
HERE! RIGHT NOW!"
"Maybe later." Wolf said calmly.
Leon nodded to Pigma. Pigma took out a small device and attached it to
the wall. Leon and Wolf then quickly drew their blasters. Wolf nodded to
Pigma. Pigma pushed a button and the force field turned off. Leon quickly
tossed a data pad in the cell and nodded back to Pigma. Pigma then pushed
another button to start the force field back up. Peppy picked up the data
pad and looked at its contents. Peppy then looked at Wolf.
"You can't be serious." Peppy said.
"Indeed we are." Lyon replied. "Just think about it.  Twenty million Lylat
system dollars for each of you. All you have to do is help us destroy
Corneria." Pigma broke in.
"We have finished modifying the SSD. The weapon is ready."
"Then why do you need our help?" Falco said.
Leon smiled and stepped toward Falco. "Because if you refuse, you will
die. Andross will not take kindly to anyone who doesn't worship him. If
you refuse to assist him, then you refuse to worship him."
Fox then put his face in front of Leon's "Well you go tell that slimy
piece of worm filth, that we won't worship him no matter what you pay us."
Leon sighed and looked at Wolf. Wolf looked at Fox and said, "Ok, if
that's your decision. Pigma, prepare the mind probe. If they refuse to
help us then we will take their information from them by force."
"Yes sir." Pigma said. Wolf smiled.
"I really wish you reconsider my offer. It would really hurt me if I had
to kill a great person like you." Wolf then laughed and walked away as
Leon and Pigma left.

Fox again clenched his fists in anger. Peppy put his hand on Fox's
shoulder.
"I haven't seen Pigma for a very long time." Peppy said. Fox
turned and looked at Peppy.
"Pigma was a wonderful fighter. I have no idea why he would betray us like
this."

Fox looked at his father on the floor and said, "I always thought that
Wolf was jealous because I was getting all the attention at the academy. I
had no idea that he was this jealous."
"That's probably not the main reason." Peppy said. "They are probably
getting paid for what they are doing." Fox nodded his head in agreement.
Suddenly Fox noticed that his dad was moving. He was waking up! Fox ran
over to his dad.
"Dad, it's me, Fox. Can you hear me?" James eyes opened
and looked at Fox.
"Junior?"

Chapter 9: Catching up.
Fox smiled and hugged his dad. "Oh dad, I'm so glad you're ok." James
looked at Fox.
"What are you doing here?" Fox was very surprised at that
question.
"I was going to ask you the same thing." Fox said. James smiled,
stood up, and looked at everyone else in the room.
"Peppy!" James shouted.
Peppy ran over and gave James a huge hug. "Are you ok, Hawk?" Peppy asked.
"I'm fine considering the circumstances." James answered. Fara looked at
Fox.
"Hawk?" she asked Fox.
"His nickname when he was young." Fox answered. James walked over to Fara.
"Who is this beautiful thing?" James asked.
"This is my wife Fara." Fox said. James looked at Fox.
"Your wife?" he said. Fox smiled and nodded.
"For two years now." he said.
James took Fara's hand and kissed it tenderly. James then looked at Fox
out of the corner of his eye.
"I'm so glad my son has great taste in females." Fox and Fara both smiled
back at him.

James then turned and looked at Falco.
"So" James said pointing at Falco. "It looks like you stayed in the
Cornerian army despite this guy's influence."
"Huh?" Falco said. James then turned and looked at Fox.
"You did stay in the Cornerian army when I went to the other dimension,
right?" he asked. Fox opened his mouth but then quickly shut it. James
walked back over to Fox. "Fox? What happened?" James asked. Fox took a
deep breath.
"The Cornerian army let us go. They thought that Andross wasn't too much
of a threat and that we were making a huge deal about nothing. So we took
the law in our own hands and went to other planets maintaining the peace.
After a while Andross declared war on Corneria. That's when General Pepper
requested that we would help fight Andross and his army of robots and
lizards. We accepted, and that's when we met each other five years ago
when you were on that whale ship." James smiled and patted Fox on the
shoulder.

"I don't blame you for leaving. The Generals back then weren't the
brightest people around. So, Pepper became a General? Wow. What made you
decide to stay in the Cornerian army?"
"After Andross went through the wormhole" Fox began "we all thought that
you defeated him. For the last five years, there wasn't any activity from
Venom's forces. It was during that time when General Pepper made us an
offer that we couldn't refuse. Now we can have almost anything we want at
our fingertips." James smiled.
"I'm glad that you all made the decision to stay in the army." he said.
"Hi James." Peppy said.
"Peppy, it's nice to see you again." James answered. James then caught
sight of Katt. "You are?" James started.
Katt finished the sentence "I'm Katt Monroe from the Cornerian military
base on Katina." James smiled and looked at Fox.
"Katina has a Cornerian military base?"
Fox smiled.
"Father." Fox started. "We really need to catch up."

"I think it's safe to activate our back up plan." Katt said. Everyone
looked at her.
"What backup plan?" Fox asked. Katt sat down and took off her boot. Two
blasters and a scanning device came out and dropped to the floor. Everyone
was in total shock.
"You had those in there and you never told us?" Peppy said with a hint of
excitement on his face.
"Yes." Katt answered. "You didn't?"
"I wonder why the materializer didn't pick them up?" Fara asked.
"Probably because they were hidden." Slippy answered.
"How much luck did you have with the force field box, Peppy?" Fox asked.
Peppy picked up the scanning device on the floor and scanned the box.
"According to this." Peppy began. "The box needs an electrical charge to
turn off the force field." Fox then picked up one of the blasters and
stuck it in one of the holes.
"Stand back everyone." Fox warned. "I'm not sure what this is going to
do." Fox fired. A single blue pulse went into the hole. Nothing happened.
"It absorbed the impact." Slippy said holding the scanning device. Fox
then pointed his blaster at the force field and fired three shots. All
three quickly ricocheted off the force field.

Everyone ducked as the blue pluses hit the opposite wall.
"WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO?! GET US KILLED?!" Falco yelled.
"Sorry." Fox said. "You know that wasn't my intent." Falco then let out a
big sigh.
Slippy sat down on the floor and looked at the fluorescent light above.
"If I can somehow harness that electricity and put it in the box." Slippy
thought to himself. Then an idea came to him. "Falco." Slippy said. "You
are the tallest. Can you reach that fluorescent light?" Falco reached up
and touched it easily.
"Great!" Slippy said. "Does anyone have anything that's made out of
metal." He asked. Everyone checked his or her uniforms.
"I think I found something." Falco said. Falco gave two hairpins to
Slippy.
Slippy looked at Falco. "Why are you wearing..?" He started.
Falco then gave Slippy a mean look, and Slippy quickly stopped talking.
"What do you intend to do?" James asked. Slippy answered.
"Using these hairpins we are going to channel the electricity from the
fluorescent light to the box controlling the force field."
"So what is going to carry the electricity?" Peppy asked. Slippy gulped
and said. "We are." Everyone gasped.
"Are you crazy!?" Falco said. Slippy folded his arms.
"Does anyone have any other suggestions?" Slippy said. "I'll be glad to
hear them." The room then became silent. "If there are no other
suggestions, then let's do
it."
Falco began to take one of the fluorescent light bulbs out of its socket.
Katt went up to him.
"Nervous?" She asked. Falco tried to act cool by hiding his emotions.
"Me? Oh no. I do this all the time. I never told you about the time when I
saved Fox from a fire." Fox rolled his eyes.
"Another tall tale by Falco." Fox thought. "Sooner or later Katt would
catch him in his own lie."
Slippy walked to the force field box. In his right hand he held the
hairpin. In his left he held James hand. James held
Fox's. Fox held Fara's. Fara held Peppy's. Peppy held Katt's and Katt held
Falco's. In Falco left hand was the other hairpin.
"Ready?" Slippy asked.
Falco nodded.
"Now!" Slippy yelled. Falco stuck the hairpin in the light socket. Slippy
stuck his in one of the box's holes. They all screamed in pain as the
shock went through them. They then fell to the floor unconscious.

Chapter 10: A Taste of the Future.

Fox opened his eyes. There was fog everywhere around him. Fox sat up and
realized that he could not see his hands or his feet because of the dense
fog. Fox quickly looked at the floor he was sitting on. Did he get
materialized somewhere else? Fox then looked in the distance and saw a
bright light. The light came closer and closer to fox. As it came closer,
Fox started to shield his eyes. Then all of a sudden the light vanished.
Fox looked and saw a female fox standing a few feet from him. Fox looked
around and noticed that the fog level was dropping very rapidly. The
female fox had bright white puffy clouds surrounding her. Fox looked at
his feet and realized that he was standing on glass, below the glass Fox
could see more puffy white clouds. Fox now knew where he was. He looked at
the female figure in front of him. "Am I dead?" Fox asked.

The female fox smiled and answered Fox's question. "No, it's not your time
yet." Fox quickly looked around at the fog and clouds again.
"Then why am I here?" he asked. The female fox stopped smiling and looked
at Fox straight in the eyes.
"We brought you here to warn you of the future."
"The future?" Fox said aloud. Fox could hardly believe the conversation he
was having. He looked back at the female fox.
"Why?" Fox asked. "What is going to happen in the future?" The female fox
took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Fox could tell she felt
uncomfortable with that question.
Fox started to walk to where she was standing. "What's going to happen to
me?" he asked again.
This time, the female fox answered the question. "It depends on what you
do now. Your decisions can have good or bad consequences. You have now
reached that point in your life where your decisions will effect the Lylat
system forever." Fox shook his head.
"I don't understand what you mean." he said. The female fox continued.
"Your good intentions to the Lylat system could prove fatal in later years
of your life." The female fox looked at Fox again in the eyes. "Millions
of lives might die depending on what good intentions you choose to do."

Fox's mouth dropped. "How can my good intentions cause the destruction of
Lylat?" Fox thought to himself. He looked at the female fox again. "How do
I avoid this from happening?" Fox asked. The female fox answered.
"I can only tell you to look at the Lylat system as a whole." Fox repeated
that phase over in his head. "Who are you?" he asked. The female fox
walked closer to Fox. Fox realized that she was wearing a pink dress.
"I've seen that outfit before." Fox thought to himself. Then he remembered
who she was. He looked again at the female's face.

"Mom?" Fox said. The female smiled and then quickly disappeared. 

Fox stood there shocked. Fox then began to notice a bright orange glow
coming from one of the clouds. Fox smiled as he walked toward this cloud
to investigate it. When he approached the cloud, he began to hear
explosions. Confused, Fox stepped through the cloud. There was a horrible
sight in front of him. Corneria City was in flames!! Fox could see many
arwings firing their lasers destroying homes and skyscrapers that were in
their path. Wait a minute?! Arwings are firing on Corneria?! Fox sank to
his knees in tears.

"Fox! Fox wake up!" Falco said. Fox opened his eyes and looked at everyone
standing over him.

"Are you ok Junior?" James asked. Fox sat up and tried to gather his
thoughts together. Slippy ran the scanning device over Fox's
head.
"Don't worry." Slippy said. "He will be fine." Fox got up on his
feet.
"Is everyone ok?" Fox asked. Slippy answered the question.
"The electricity bolt was enough to make us go unconscious. But other then
that everyone appears to be fine." Fox looked at the rectangular opening
in the cell.

"You should know" Slippy continued. "that you were out for about five
minutes after the rest of us woke up. We didn't think you would make it."

Fox looked back at Slippy. "Did we succeed?" Fox asked.
"Yes." Slippy answered.
"Then let's hurry out before someone comes." Fox said. Slippy
then quickly handed Fox the scanning device. "I found the location of the
materializer and the SSD." Slippy said as he pointed to the scanning
device. "The SSD is in the same location as our arwings. However, this
cell is about two miles below the surface of the planet. It will be quite
a walk to get there." Fox was puzzled. "Why would Andross hold on to our
arwings and not destroy them?"

"Hmmm." Slippy said. "I don't know. Good question."
"What else do you have?" Fox asked.
"The materializer is located about twenty miles away in this location."
Slippy said as he again pointed to the scanning device. 
Fox gave the scanning device back to Slippy, and picked up one of the
blasters off the floor. "Ok everyone." Fox said. "Remember this is enemy
territory. Falco and I will shoot at anything that appears to be a
threat." Fox looked at James and smiled.

"Dad?" Fox said. "Would you like to command the remainder of this
mission?" James opened his mouth, slowly closed it, opened it again and
closed it again. Then he smiled and looked at Fox.
"No, it's your adventure. I'll remain under your command." Fox smiled as
the team walked out of the cell.
